Meet Jeffrey Aycock, DMD
Dr. Jeffrey Aycock joined Brunswick Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in a fellowship beginning June 2021. He is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon originally from Houma, Louisiana. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi, Dr. Aycock continued additional post-baccalaureate studies at Western Carolina University. He received his DMD from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry in 2009. He is a third-generation dental professional as his grandfather was a general dentist and his father was an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon.
From 2013-2017 he completed a four-year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He served as an assistant professor in the program following the completion of his training.
Dr. Aycock is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society. He is also an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the ECU School of Dental Medicine Clinic in Brunswick County.
Dr. Aycock is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve Dental Corps and served on active duty previously for ten and a half years. He was enlisted and then served in the 82nd Airborne Division and the 44th Medical Brigade as a Medical Service Corps officer before entering the dental profession. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 as a dentist and to Bosnia and Nicaragua earlier in his career.
He has been married for 17 years to his wonderful wife, Kim. They enjoy outdoor activities especially being out on the water.
