ORAL SURGEON SHAWN M. CONRAD, DDS, PA
Meet Dr. CONRAD
Conrad grew up in the (very) small town of Catawissa, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He obtained his dental degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Conrad then did an internship as a resident in Anesthesiology also at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. Following his training in Anesthesiology, Dr. Conrad entered and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Conrad has practiced in Wilmington since July 1999. He is board-certified in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and has full admitting privileges at New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he has been department chairman three times over his twenty-plus years on staff.
In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Conrad is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UNC-Chapel Hill where he continues to teach on a monthly basis. He is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and The International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Conrad is well trained in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery but concentrates on Dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, pathology, reconstruction and facial trauma. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, and hiking.
